2019 College Gymnastics Imperialism Map: Introduction
Welcome to the College Gymnastics Imperialism Map! This idea has become popular in football and basketball, so I thought I would take it to gymnastics! I will be updating this map every week once all of the meets are complete. Here's how it works:
- Each team is given a territory to begin the season (as seen above), and if they lose, the team that beats them takes their land.
- In a meet in which more than two teams participate, the winner of the meet takes the land from all of the teams they beat.
- The territories for each team are determined by which school is closest in straight-line distance to the geometric center of each county.
- Once a team loses all of their land, they have to defeat a team with land in order to return to the map. Beating a team that has no land means nothing happens.
